Welcome to Nostalgia Underground — Keeping the past alive.
Hi, I’m Jamie, the guy behind it all. As an 80s kid, I grew up in a world where the best gifts weren’t the shiny new toys themselves, but the chance to tear them apart just to see how they ticked—and how I could make them better.
From a young age, I was hooked on electronics: audio gear, early computers, you name it—I dabbled in it all. But my real sweet spot was mechanics. I’d test my skills on anything with moving parts that I could get my hands on. My pappy (dad) dreamed I’d become a mechanical engineer, but I had other plans. I wanted to be a grease monkey, and by age 20, that’s exactly what I became—a full-time technician turning wrenches for a living.
Even as my day job kept me elbow-deep in engines, my passion for electronics never faded. I was building custom PCs on the side and turning into quite the audiophile, chasing that perfect sound from vintage amps to modern setups.
Today, my full-time gig is still as a technician, but my real heart is in preserving the past I grew up loving. Whether it’s restoring an old game console, breathing new life into a classic sound system, experimenting with modern electronics, or putting together a fresh PC build—there’s not much outside my wheelhouse.
That’s why I started Nostalgia Underground. I’ve watched this hobby slowly fade away, squeezed out by skyrocketing prices and the crazy fees on places like eBay. I can’t save every piece of retro history out there, but I can do my part: sourcing, restoring, and offering these treasures at fair, reasonable prices.
We focus on nostalgia—vintage consoles, audio equipment, classic tech—but I also want to bring you deals on all sorts of electronics, maybe even some cool toys that spark that same childhood joy. You’ll find a mix here: fully restored gems, parts, projects, and even some futuristic modern gear that blends old-school vibes with new tech.
This is a hobby business, so things move at a relaxed pace—no rush, just passion. Down the road, I’d love to grow it into a real community spot: a place where you can sell your own stuff without someone taking 40% of the cut. I can’t do it for free, but when the time comes, it’ll be way less than the big competitors—and always centered on preserving the past.
In the meantime, if you’ve got something you think I’d be into—an old console gathering dust, a vintage stereo, or anything nostalgic—hit me up. Let’s work out a deal.
Thanks for stopping by and helping keep the past alive with us.
